There is a new local program for homeowners and residents of apartments in Roanoke to promote a healthy change to the New Year, and it is already making a difference.

The Roanoke 100 Miler encourages participants to walk, run, or pedal 100 miles in 100 days.

With more than 800 people signed up for the first time program Roanoke's 100 Miler is a revolution not just a resolution.

We're only in week two of the program, but many around Roanoke can feel a difference already.

While it's called the Roanoke 100 Miler, others outside city limits are joining in as well.

Even though it is 100 miles, participants are doing it 1 mile a day, and feeling great.

Roanoke Parks and Recreation, Outdoor Event Specialist, Joe Hanning says, the program is making a difference in lives and our region.
 
You can improve the quality of living just with an active living lifestyle.
Even when the wind is rapid and the temperature is low the participants have made a commitment to 100 miles in 100 days.
