Everyone in our apartments in Roanoke, VA loves cookies. Perfect because, a group in Roanoke is raising money for pediatric cancer research during a fundraiser called Cookies For Kids’ Cancer.
Cookies For Kids’ Cancer is a big bake sale done in cities across the country and is a national non-profit.
Cancer is the second leading cause of death in children younger than 15 years old according to the American Cancer Society.
Statistics show about 25% of kids that are diagnosed lack funding for proper treatment. Less than 4% of the National Cancer Institute funds go toward pediatric cancer research.
