Now that the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend is here, everyone at Honeywood Apartments wants to you to travel safely. If you live in apartments in Roanoke, VA and will be traveling through the weekend, please be safe on the roads.
Remember to be responsible on the roads and know that police are out in force to keep you safe this holiday weekend.
Roanoke County police will have checkpoints throughout the weekend. There will also be more this week.
Officers say there will be a zero tolerance policy when it comes to drunk or impaired driving this holiday season.
From 2002 to 2011, 44 people died and another 723 were injured in alcohol-related crashes in Roanoke County. During the last two years, the County had its lowest number of alcohol-related crashes, a number the department hopes will continue to decrease with efforts like these checkpoints.
This week's sobriety checks will be followed by a series of others in different areas of the County through the New Year.
